The Bag Edit

Hey guys,

Hope you enjoyed my last post. Let me know if you did and I’ll do another one as well as an outfit video to accompany it 🙂 I’ve been very busy with my internship and it’s hard to believe, but my internship is almost over. I finish on the 14th of November. I love it there and I love the changes they’re doing. The clothes are fab and by the way they are holding a giveaway on their Facebook page! It’s one not to be missed!

Anyways I’ve been finding it hard to bring everything I need with me, (lunch, laptop, diary, planner etc.) to work in one bag. In fact I’ve taken three different bags to work sometimes because not everything fits in one. It’s so frustrating! I’m thinking of getting one and hopefully this edit will help me decide. If you have any recommendations do please let me know in the comments section below. Enjoy!

Menswear Inspired OOTD

Hey guys,

Well I know I haven’t posted an outfit post in ages and I decided that it was time. It’s sunny today and I took the opportunity. This look I decided to put together because of being inspired by Sofia Vergara’s instagram photo where she was walking in New York with heels and a pair of jeans. I decide to go for that whole look but add my twist to it and instead of making it really feminine with a tank top etc. I decided to put on a shirt, blazer and a long coat. This look is almost all from Zara by the way. My shirt, blazer, coat and boots are from Zara. The jeans are from Calvin Klein which I found in TK Maxx and the necklace is from H&M. IMG_3680 IMG_3688 IMG_3683

I decided to add a bit of colour with the lipstick and I went for my trusty YSL orangey-red lippy in number 13. I went very minimal with the make up and only used my Nars tinted moisturiser and a rustic brown eyeshadow, Uninterrupted, from MAC. To conceal my under eyes I used two brilliant Bobbi Brown products, one which I have already reviewed (here) and the other I will review soon with my Bobbi Brown BB cream. They are the Bobbi Brown Corrector in Porcelain Peach and the Creamy Concealer with powder in Sand. Before I put all that on I used the Nuxe samples I got in the ITWBN event back in August. I am in love and I will definitely be purchasing the full size once they run out. I will have a review up when I finish them as well. IMG_3681IMG_3698IMG_3691IMG_3697

AW14 Favourites and Must Haves

Hey guys,

The best season for fashion is here! I am soo excited to get layering and just dressing in mostly black and dark colours…I do that anyways but it feels better when it’s Autumn. I’m sure you know what I mean.

So..I have a bit of news..This post marks my third year blogging. Yup I’ve been blogging for three years and I’m still loving it!

Velvet..ahhh velvet you make my mouth water every time I mention your name..velvet. Yes it is a standard AW trend but hey when it’s good it’s good..right?! Who does it better than Saint Laurent? No one.

Saint Laurent

Here is how I would style this dress.. I know the 60’s look is very much a trend this session and you can see it everywhere so this dress is the perfect way for you to kill two trends with one stone. I decided to keep it very dark and well I like my Autumn/Winter to be like that because there is a darkness in all of us and I find it comes out in AW.
Velvet

Another trend which I am in LOVE with and find that we women can pull it off way better than men…is the androgynous look. Cara Delevingne showed how good we can do it when she attended yesterday’s Burberry SS15 show. She was wearing the most gorgeous suit ever and she did it a la Chanel with a sneaker. Also my fave suits are from Saint Laurent.
Andro-Genius

I went for a very minimalistic and almost a nod to the sports luxe trend which is still very popular and from what I’ve seen from the Fashion Weeks it’s going to stay for SS15.
Suited and Booted

Last but not least is capes! Capes Capes Capes…I gotta get me some capes! This was seen the most at the Saint Laurent show (you can tell I’m in love with Saint Laurent can’t ya?). Everything from fur to wool..it’s all there for us and I can’t wait to invest in a cape. I want to feel like Red Riding Hood but without a wolf wanting to eat me of course. Imagine if a wolf just magically appears wanting to eat you every time you put on your cape! O_O
I decided to pair the cape with how I would wear it (of course) and also you can easily dress up a cape. It’s for every occasion.
Cape for me Cape for you

Warehouse AW14 Press Preview

IMG_3352

Hey guys,

I was invited to the Warehouse AW14 Press Preview by the lovely Roisin Moloney and Katie Allen and I’m so glad I was because it iwas brilliant and exciting to be able to go to one finally! I took the day off work for it and set my alarm for 5:30am…our train was leaving at 6:40am O_O you can imagine how I was. But..it was worth it!

We got to the train station early, for once, and went and took our seats in the train. I got a danish since, even though we did plan on bringing something with us to not spend money, I ended up spending money on something to eat…it was a danish that wasn’t nice and cost €2.50!

Anyways I got to Dublin at 9am and we headed straight to Warehouse. I went upstairs and was greeted by one of the lovely girls there. I signed my name and off I went to look at the collection and my gosh it’s amazing! I love the different textures, the furs, the leathers, the metallics, the knits etc. I loved the colours as well..pastels, brights and deep hues were on show. One thing that I kept noticing were co-ords and yes they’re here to stay. I love co-ords.

There were light refreshments and everything looked fresh…I tried the pure orange juice and it was lovely..Also RTE was there so that was a bonus!

IMG_3408 IMG_3418 IMG_3419 IMG_3397 IMG_3343 IMG_3341

The lovely Lia Stokes talked me through the collection and she was brilliant. I fell in love with the co-ords and the coats..they were amazing! The lovely Roisin came up to me and we talked for a little bit..she’s lovely and am so grateful she invited me! Thank you Roisin! I hope I can make it to many more 🙂

I was given my goodie bag by Lia and I hadn’t checked it until an hour or so later when we sat down for something light to eat. I was so shocked and excited to know there was a gift card in it and yup I can’t wait to get myself something nice!

I can’t wait for my next press preview! Hope you enjoyed this post and do let me know what you think. I will have another post up with all the lookbook photos this week so watch out for that.

Lush Retread Conditioner Review

IMG_3246

Making my hair go through so many colours and bleach really has weighed it’s toll and this is why I am trying to rescue it. Searching for so many nourishing conditioners etc etc and not finding anything has made me doubt that I will ever rescue my hair..until I went into Lush in Cork and was recommended the Retread conditioner.

She also recommended the shampoo but because my funds were too low I didn’t get it as well. However I will get it as well as the conditioner this Wednesday when I travel up to Dublin for the Warehouse AW14 Press Preview (look out for that blog post soon!).

You might have guessed my thoughts on it from that sentence but I will tell you anyway. The conditioner smells delicious and it’s got mostly natural ingredients.

IMG_3248

Ingredients:

Agar Infusion (Gelidium cartilagineum) , Propylene Glycol , Soya Milk (Glycine soja) , Cetearyl Alcohol and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate , Fresh Cantaloupe Melon (Cucumis Cantalupensis) , Olive Oil (Olea europaea) ,Perfume , Natural Yoghurt , Avocado Oil (Persea gratissima) , Lanolin , Cetearyl Alcohol , Cetrimonium Bromide , Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis) ,Synthetic Musk , Violet Leaf Absolute (Viola odorata) ,Orange Blossom Absolute (Citrus dulcis) , Neroli Oil (Citrus amara) , *Benzyl Benzoate , Methylparaben ,Propylparaben

Here is what the Lush website says about it.

Retread is our super-smoothing conditioning cream that gives sad hair its shine and bounce back. Use it when your hair is feeling absolutely wrecked. This rich conditioner makes your hair look better, but more importantly, it moisturizes and feeds your hair the nutrients it needs. We use a blend of softening and hydrating ingredients, including seaweed, lanolin, fresh canteloupe and protein-rich yoghurt and soya milk to strengthen locks. Then we blend in olive, jojoba and avocado oils to give a truly deep condition. Together all these ingredients add up to a nutritious heavy weight conditioner. Put a plentiful helping on your hair and let it go to work.

I have to say that it basically does what it says and what it is..I have been using it since the day after I bought it and all I can say is, is that it has made my hair so much better. Before my hair was so brittle and dry and you could definitely see it in the ends. My hair felt like straw. I use it every time I get into the shower and what I do is; I first wash my hair and then get a big handful in my hand and apply it through the middle and ends of my hair because it needs it basically. I then leave it there and continue with my shower..at the very end I then rinse it off. The good thing about the conditioner is that it didn’t make my hair greasy and it didn’t weigh it down like others I have tried. After my hair has air dried it always feels so soft and healthy. Even my boyfriend has noticed the difference.

IMG_3250

I am at the very end of the pot and have been using it for 2 months now so you can judge how long it will last you. I am going to repurchase it as I have mentioned above (It cost me €15 and worth every cent) and I will be getting the shampoo as well because the shampoo I bought myself to try and nourish my hair is not worth a cent, in my opinion. It dries out my hair even more and hasn’t nourished it at all…it has done nothing basically.

IMG_3253

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has dry brittle hair and has dyed it a million times. Let me know if you have used it also and what your thoughts are on it.

Make it Electric!

Hey guys,

lucky you if you’re going to Electric Picnic! Hope you enjoy yourselves! If you can’t yet decide or if you haven’t yet bought your festival outfit then Warehouse will help you out with the perfect festival ready outfit.

image001

Because our weather is so temperamental you can never be too careful in what to pack for a festival. So it’s best to be prepare. What better place than Warehouse. I love how individual yet trendy they are and they always have something for any occasion.

Denim cut offs are a must for any festival and going the boho chic way is the best way, in my opinion. You can pear denim cut offs with anything and here you can see how you can do that very easily. A backpack for all your necessities is a must and I would definitely recommend going for either a faux leather or real leather one like the red one below.

image003-1

Another outfit which would be easy to put together and can be transformed is a dress. You can make it boho chic again or uber 90’s. Pair it with the hat of the season, fedora, and away you go.

image004-2

Last but not least is my favourite look. It’s super rock chick and one that I would definitely wear. I live in jeans and these are amazing. The knee slit is on trend this season and can you believe I have not gotten myself a pair yet?! These Warehouse ones look AMAAAAZING!

I hope this has helped you in choosing your perfect festival outfit. Which would you choose?

Peter Ting for Oasis

Hey guys,

Some exciting news about Oasis and if you are an Oasis fan. Peter Ting, award winning ceramic designer has collaborated with them and though I don’t know his designs personally I can definitely say you will be excited about this. It has already launched, it launched last Friday 22nd, and the prints are amazing.

Taking inspiration from traditional Chinese (Hua Niao) flower bird paintings, the print features beautiful in flight hummingbird silhouettes. I think what he has created is basically a masterpiece with this print.

Oasis Design Director, Clive Reeve, commented; “I have always loved ceramics and admired Peter’s work. His beautiful bird designs and sophisticated palette form the basis of this gorgeous collection.”

The collection consists of thirteen pieces and they’re so individual. I love the garnets he chose to put his mark on. It really goes with what the hummingbird signifies.

Charming shades greens and purples (my favourite colour) form a perfect palette to make the move into Autumn. Peter adds; “I am thrilled to collaborate with Oasis. The collection captures the charm, energy and spirit of Flutter by Oasis and I feel a real affinity and fondness for a brand that loves pattern and print as much as I do! Seeing my original ceramic designs transform into a beautiful clothing collection has been an utterly absorbing and completely fascinating process.”

The pieces are available in store and online and the prices start at €28
